Mary L. Fiacco, 100 of Main Street passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Regis Nursing Home.
Mary was born July 11, 1913 in Norwood, NY the daughter of Antonio and Antonia (Ciarla) Orologio. She married Arcangel Fiacco in September 1931 at St. Andrews Church in Norwood, NY. Mary and her late husband owned and operated Fiacco's Market on Main Street for many years in Massena retiring in 1977.
Mary is survived by grandchildren, Daniel and wife Nan Fiacco of Jacksonville FL, Jay and wife Dr. Grace (Lee) Fiacco of Manhasset LI, son-in-law Donald Price of Massena; three step-grandchildren; Ariana Santimaw, Cole and Cassandra Price; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jason, Laura and Brendon many nieces and nephews. Mary also is remembered fondly by a special nephew Albert Chilton; devoted spiritual friends, Sister Christine Taylor and Rev. Jack Downs. Mary was preceded her in death by her husband Arcangelo in 1977, her beloved daughter Antoinette in 2013 and beloved son Robert in 1977.
Mary was a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary, and communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart.
Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday morning starting at 10 a.m. until the time of services. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12 Noon at the Church of the Sacred Heart with Rev Donald J. Manfred presiding. The interment will follow in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery, Massena. For those wishing to honor Mary's memory may do so through contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
