On the 1st day of July in 1950, a son was born to Emanuel and Vernice Brazil Clark. This baby boy was named Richard Daniel Clark. Richard grew up on the family farm in the Tolon Community Southwest of Beggs, Oklahoma with his parents, two brothers Leo and William Ronnie, three sisters Vernetta, Rosetta, and Lubertha. He joined Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church at a very early age and participated in all church activities. Richard attended Tolon Elementary School in the Tolon Community, Beggs, and Wheatley Schools in Beggs. Throughout his school days he was very active in 4-H Club, FFA and enjoyed participating in all sports. Upon graduation Richard was drafted into the United States Army. In 1970, he was deployed overseas to Vietnam. During this deployment, Richard earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, with a Bronze Service Star. After his honorable discharge from service, Richard attended Heavy Equipment Operation School. After he retired from the U.S. General Service Administration, he enjoyed being with his family and friends and traveling. A few years ago, Richard moved back to the family farm where he lived until his death. Richard was a very quiet, kind hearted generous person. He enjoyed cars, and trucks, and could always name every make and model. On the anniversary of his mothers' passing, the 18th day of July, 2013, Richard Daniel Clark, after 63 seasons, left this life for a life eternal to be at peace forever. He is preceded in death by his mother & father, grandparents, and his brothers Leo & Ronnie. The Final Salute will be on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, west of Beggs, in the Tolon Community. Burial will follow in the Tuskegee Cemetery at Edna, Oklahoma. You may visit Richard, as he slumbers at the funeral home on Friday from 12 Noon until 6 PM.
