YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Joyce Shermer Todd, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Hoots Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Todd was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Yadkin County to Grover and Eva Howell Shermer . She was a homemaker and a member of Courtney Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert Todd; a son, Jackie Noel Todd; and two sisters, Nellie Pearl Shermer Steelman and Willie Shermer White. Surviving are two nephews, Bill (Joann) White and Edward (Ann) White, all of Yadkinville. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Gentry Family Funeral Home by the Rev. John Brown. Burial will follow in Courtney Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted but memorials may be made to Courtney Baptist Church Building Fund, 3341 Courtney Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
