He was the retired head of the maintenance department at the Washington County Board of Education. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Baker Reel; one son, Robert R. Reel of Hagerstown; one step-daughter, Mrs. Vivian Bowers of Williamsport; three step-sons, C. Clipp of Frederick and Robert L. Monninger and Lawrence E. Monninger, both of Hagerstown; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Lapole of Clear Spring, Mrs. Daisy Sprecher of Hagerstown and Mrs. Frances Geist of Baltimore; one brother, John W. Reel of Conococheague;and one granddaughter.
Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
