BENJAMIN F. REEL, 71, of Bester St., died at the Washington County Hospital Sunday afternoon after a long illness. He was born in Sharpsburg, the son of Franklin M. and Annie B. Gray Reel.
He was the retired head of the maintenance department at the Washington County Board of Education. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Baker Reel; one son, Robert R. Reel of Hagerstown; one step-daughter, Mrs. Vivian Bowers of Williamsport; three step-sons, C. Clipp of Frederick and Robert L. Monninger and Lawrence E. Monninger, both of Hagerstown; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Lapole of Clear Spring, Mrs. Daisy Sprecher of Hagerstown and Mrs. Frances Geist of Baltimore; one brother, John W. Reel of Conococheague;and one granddaughter.
Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
