Wade H. Abram,
Grover, Stricken
Sunday Evening

An hour after he suddenly became ill last night, Wade H. Abram, 60, well-known west-side grocer, died at his home, 1305 West Eleventh Street. Dr. Robert E. Lyons, Monroe county coroner who investigated, said today that Mr. Abram had suffered a coronary occulusion [sic].

After eating his dinner last night, Mr. Abram walked from his home to the Eleventh Street grocery store he had operated for 15 years. Later he returned home and went to bed. About 9:30 he complained of not feeling well. He got up out of bed and had started outside when he collapsed in the doorway. A physician was summoned but Mr. Abram was dead when he arrived.

Ill Several Months

Dr. Lyons learned from the family today that Mr. Abram had been suffering from heart disease for several months, although the condition had not incapacitated him or caused him too much trouble. About four years ago he had retired from the grocery business and had been in retirement since that time.

Survivors include the wife, Emma; two daughters, Mrs. Doyle Cantrell and Mrs. Logan Howard, both of Bloomington; two sons, Arthur Abram at home and Robert of Bloomington; one sister, Mrs. Grace Hendricks and a brother Oscar Abram, both of Greene county.

A native of Greene county, he was born there on May 8, 1887 to Samuel and Rebekah Bullock Abram. He had lived in Monroe county most of his lifetime.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eleventh Street Pentecostal Church with Rev. Orville Frame officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Bohannan. Interment will be in Valhalla cemetery. The remains have been taken from the Greene and Harrell mortuary and returned to the family residence to lie in state until the hour of the memorial service.
