Christopher Was born Jan. 13, 1812 in White Twp, Indiana County. Pa to William Borland and M. Magdalena Herrold. He was one of ten children which include Sarah Borland Lowman, John Cambell , Nancy Beatty, Elizabeth Beatty, Catherine, William Henry, Daniel, Maryann Laird, and Martha Smith.
He married Jane Miller . They had 5 children Mary A, Charlotte (Lottie)McHenry, James A. Borland, William Harrold Borland, and in infant that died in 1871.
