WILLIAM H. Van ARTSDALEN, 78 - died at his home on September 21, 2004. He was born in Sea Isle City. Son of the late Harry R. and Elizabeth Wood Van Artsdalen. He was the husband of the late Gloria A. VanArtsdalen who predeceased him May 8, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, Starr Lynn Davis and husband Gary of Amherst, MA; his son, William H., Jr., former Commissioner of Sea Isle City and resident of Mullica Hill; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Bethany Davis.

He was retired from the DuPont Company and was a Navy Veteran of WW II having served on the USS Fogg. He was president of the Salem Jaycees and a member of the Mannington Township Board of Education.

Bill and his late wife, Gloria, returned to Townsend's Inlet to retire in 1988 to enjoy fishing, crabbing, clamming and spending winters in FL.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Rte 9, Ocean View, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 97, Seaville, NJ 08230 or the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Rt 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
