Jermiah Loring, an aged and highly respected citizen, died at his residence in Yarmouthville, on Saturday last. Always an honorable and upright man, a devout Christian and church member, he will be greatly missed in this community. Mr. Loring was born in North Yarmouth in 1802, and during his years of business of activity was recognized as one of our best mechanics. He was a housebuilder and joiner by trade and was employed on many of our best dwellings and public buildings of those days, including the old North Yarmouth Academy and Russell Hill. He leaves a wife and a son, Ansel L. Loring, who is extensively engaged in the flour and grain business. The funeral services took place at his late residence on Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at which the pastor of this church, the Rev. Joseph Torrey, D. D., officiated.
