Ethlyn Mae Dozier, 97, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Brent Adams, minister, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Gober Cemetery near Bonham. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Ethlyn was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Wolfe City to William and Erin Nelson. She married Maurice Dozier on Nov. 29, 1934, and was married for 61 years. She was a beautician for more than 30 years. She was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ. Ethlyn enjoyed gardening, sewing and making quilt tops and she loved her cats. She was famous for her coconut, chocolate and cherry yum-yum pies. She was looking forward to the birth of her second great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Erin Nelson; a sister, Frances Stanley; two brothers, Charles Nelson and James Nelson; and her husband, Maurice Dozier.

Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Jones and husband Harold O. Jones of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Shirley Ricketts and husband Curtis of Fritch and Janet Greenhill of Amarillo; a grandson, Jerry Jones; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Lively and husband Steven and Staysha Greenhill; a great-great-grandson, Boston Malenfant, all of Amarillo; two nieces, Vanessa Cherry and husband Paul and Jamie Thomas and husband Doug, all of Wolfe City; a nephew, Charles "Scooter" Nelson of Midland; three great-nieces; a brother-in-law, Bill Dozier; and five nieces.

The family gives special thanks to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St., Amarillo, TX 79118.
