Mae was the fifth of seven children born to Maynard 'Dobbs' Solomon (Sr.) and Florence Alabama (Gasaway) Bean. She married Corwin Francis Bowen, Sr. in 1915 and together they had three children: Genevieve, Geraldine and Corwin Francis Jr.

Mae Florence Bowen, 88, of Visalia died Thursday at a local hospital.
Mrs. Bowen was born and raised in Rosebud, Mont., where she married Corwin F. Bowen in 1912. The couple moved to Porterville in 1932 and later moved to Pismo in 1960. Bowen preceded her in death in 1972.
She is survived by one son, Corwin Bowen of Wolford Heights; one daughter, Genevieve Depew of Visalia; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hadley Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Visalia Cemetery.
