Funeral services for Bro. H.G. "Gay" Weaver, also known as "PaDaddy," 77, Van, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Hilliard Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Williams officiating and Ronnie Daniell assisting. Burial will be in Starr Cemetery, Canton.
Bro. Weaver passed away on July 12, 2013, in Tyler.
Howard Weston Weaver was born Jan. 9, 1936 in Bazette to the late Howard Wilson Weaver and Lillie May Patterson Weaver. He worked in retail and pastored several Full Gospel churches in the area. He would preach to anyone anywhere. He also loved all sports and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert Smith; and two sisters, Darlene Andrews and Joyce Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Weaver, of Van; sons, Randy Weaver and wife Brenda, of Tyler, and Brent Weaver, of Burleson; daughters, Debbie Duke and husband Wayne, of Chandler, Sandy Nevitt, of Van, and Jenny Palmer and husband Larry, of Clute; 12 grandchildren, April Shipman, Chelsea Weaver, Haley Weaver, Ryon Gross, Jeremy Gross, Nick Sandifer, Tiffany Sandifer, Phyllis Sikes, Terry Waldron, Cory Waldron, Tiffany Waldron and Shirley Waldron; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Brown, Wheat Rice, Larry Palmer, Nick Sandifer, Ryon Gross and Jeremy Gross. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers and great-grandchildren will serve as "special" honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
