He was wounded in the left shoulder May 22,1863 in the assault on the fortifications at Vicksburg, Ms. Promoted 5th Sgt. July 11,1863 and 4th Sgt. on Feb.1,1864. Mustered out at the expiration of his term of service July 30,1864 at Chattanooga, Tn.
He married Miss Lydia A. Thompson Feb.25,1866 at Lee, Mass.
He filed for an invalid pension on June 10,1898 and received certificate # 163.543. ($8.00 a month).
He died July 22,1902 at Pittsfield, Mass. at 69 yrs. of age and was buried in Pittsfield, Cemetery.
His widow filed for a pension on Aug.6,1902 and received certificate # 646.072.
