Eloise "Loisa" Juanita Sifuentes, a lifelong resident of Fontana, passed away on Thursday, July 4. She was 86 years of age.
A native of Fontana, Loisa was born on Feb. 8, 1927 to parents Isabel and Salvador Aguilar, Sr. She graduated from Chaffey High School, and saw Fontana grow from a small farming community to the large city it is today. She was a parishioner of Blessed John XXIII and also a former member of the Rosary Society. She walked to church six days a week for as long as she was able. She served the city as official on election days. She was a talented seamstress, and a grandma to all. Everyone was welcome at her house and her table. Loisa was a wonderful cook, and everyone loved her chile rellenos and tacos. Everyone looked forward to her tamales at the holidays.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Antonio of 60 years; three brothers, Earl, Robert, and Raul; a daughter, Terry Valenzuela; a son, Pete Zaragoza; and a grandchild, Cinie, Loisa is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Dave) Cuevas, of Colorado and Maria (Richard) Sarenana of Fontana. Other survivors include brothers Arthur Aguilar of Fontana, Salje Aguilar of MI, and Ray Aguilar. Missing their sister are Mary Aldama and Esther Martinez, both of Fontana, and Molly Aldama and Lydia Linares, both of San Bernardino. Loisa's grandchildren include Joe, Pete Alex, Valerie, Anthony, Amanda, and Arlene. Great-grandchildren are Jasmin, Logan, Aspen, Francine, RooRoo, Angelo, Lorenzo, Lupita, and Sarah. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to her caregiver, Lisa Aldama. She will always be missed by many extended family members, and her many friends.
A visitation will be held at Dickey Mortuary, 8030 Mango Avenue in Fontana on Thursday, July 11 from 6 to 10 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed John XXIII Catholic Church in Fontana at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, with burial following at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington. Dickey Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
