(Obit for her Husband)ADNEY, Thomas. GRAFTON. Death of Civil War Veteran. Thomas Adney, age 80 years, died at his home in Elsah Wednesday morning, May 22, after a brief illness. Mrs. Adney was well known throughout the county having lived in Jersey county many years. He was a civil war veteran. He is survived by two sons and one daughter. The funeral services were held at the home Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Rhein, pastor of the Grafton M. E. church, officiated. The body was taken to Mellville where it was laid to rest. A large number of friends from out-of-town attended the funeral. Jerseyville Republican, March 1918.
