Rudolph Baldridge was born on June 9, 1925, in Seco, Letcher County, Kentucky, the son of Fair Baldridge and Rebecca Reed. He served in the US Navy during World War II.

He died on August 2, 1988, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky, at the age of 63.
He is buried next to his parents in Chandler (Lackey) Cemetery at Lackey, Kentucky.
