Eugene was born in Providence, a son of Alfred DeFazio of Johnston and Theresa (Fortier) DeFazio of Westerly.
Eugene was the owner and operator of E. DeFazio Greenhouses in Johnston.
He was an US Marine Corps veteran.
He enjoyed spending time at his home in Naples, Florida, deep sea fishing, farming, cooking and his greatest joy was time spent with family and friends at the casino.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his loving children, Kristen and Mitchell DeFazio both of Johnston; his siblings, Alfred P. DeFazio of Cranston, Donna DeFazio Quinn of NH, Paulette DeFazio of Johnston and was also the cherished grandpa of Jameson and Joshua whom he loved spending time with. Eugene also leaves behind his loyal dog Tyson.
His funeral service was held on Monday morning in the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a burial with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
