Frozen Body Was Found Near His Home Tuesday
*A blinding snowstorm prevented my great grandfather, a local farmer, from finding his home though he was less than 50 rods from it. He had gone into Venlo late Saturday afternoon carrying a can of cream to the store. Although his farm home was just 2 miles away he apparently got lost in the storm that had increased in intensity. His family believed he was staying in town, so no search was made. His body was found by a tree near the farm home on Tuesday. His tracks showed he had wandered many miles and he had been near a neighbors farm building.
