C. Gutteridge, Ballantine Dies

Charles Gutteridge, 90, former Ballantine area farmer, died Thursday in a Veterans Hospital at Hot Springs, S.D.

Mr. Gutteridge was born April 17, 1875, in Covington, KY., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gutteridge

He married Emily Jane Long June 22, 1905, in Pittsburg, KS.
She died in 1930.

He homesteaded north of Pompeys Pillar in 1915 and had since lived in that area.

On June 22, 1948, he married Mittie Ophelia Dailey in Billings.
She died in 1961.

He had been at the Hot Springs Hospital since 1963.

He was a Spanish-American War Veteran and a member of VFW and American Legion.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William Jensen of Pompeys Pillar; a step-daughter, Mrs. Violet Engle; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Ballantine, MT.
