James Lester Allender died unexpedtedly on Thursday evening, December 12, 1968, from a heart attack.
James was the son of the late Thomas Austin and Lottie Raines Allender.

He is survived by two children, Jack Duane Allender, Alexandria, VA; and Mrs. Hazel Wilfong, Louisville, KY; five sisters, Mrs. Virdia Dunn of Frederick, Mrs. Marie Close of Perryville, Mrs. Geraldine Keefer, Mrs. Mina Bennett, and Mrs. Lola Harmon, all of Rte. 7.

Mr. Allender was retired from the B & O Railroad after completing more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Brook Hill Methodist Church.
