Bob Allen was born on March 18, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 5, 2013, while surrounded in the spirit of, and by members of his loving family. He was ninety years old.

Bob was a proud Navy veteran, who received commendation while under enemy attack during the Battle of Okinawa, 1945, though he never did make mention of it. He was also a good family man, who leading by excellent example, was a successful business man on many fronts. His third and final career was with Pennsylvania Life Insurance Company, of which he finally retired at eighty-three years of age.

Bob belonged to many fraternal and benevolent organizations such as the American Legion, VFW, Indianapolis North Side Optimist Club, and served as White River Yacht Club Commodore through years 1977- 1978. He enjoyed dancing. He was also one of the oldest living members of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway "Oldtimers".

Bob Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Allen and son, John Warren. He is survived by sons, Douglas Allen and wife Sue of Westfield, Indiana and Gregory Allen and wife Leah of Columbus, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and personal friend, Joyce Small of Carmel, Indiana.

Calling is Saturday, July 13, 2013 prior to the time of service at 11:00 am in the Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel, Carmel, Indiana. Inurnment in Carmel Cemetery, Carmel, Indiana following the service.
