Born in Rehhof, Prussia (now Ryjewo, Poland). Son of Jacob Witting, Sr. and his first wife, Eva Bank. Came to America in 1852 and settled in Black Earth, Dane Wisconsin. Enlisted in the Union Army and served in the famous Wisconsin Iron Brigade during the Civil War. Took a musket ball in his leg at Gettysburg. Please visit: Witting.TribalPages.com
