Charley Berkley, pioneer resident, died of a heart attack about 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday while mowing his lawn. He lacked only one round having the mowing
completed.
Funeral services are pending.

Heart Attack Is Fatal For Kin of Mrs. A.C. Black
Services for Homer Larkin Barkley, La Habra, Calif., brother of Mrs. A.C.
Black, Carnegie, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the First Baptist church in
La Habra.
Barkley, 56 years of age, died of a heart attack Monday, May 11, at La Habra.
He was born January 11, 1903, at Quinlan, Tex., the son of Minnie B. and Oscar
L. Barkley. He was united in marriage to Edna Beddo on December 24, 1924. Four
sons were born to them, one preceding him in death. He was a member of the
Baptist church.
Surviving him are his widow and three sons, Darrel of the home address, Alvin
of Boswell, Okla., and Gene of La Puente, Calif.; two granddaughters and three
grandsons.
He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Black of Carnegie, Mrs. Andy
Flippin and Mrs. H.L. Adkisson, both of Mountain View; three brothers, Hershel
Barkley of Woodlake, Calif., Ray Barkley, Mountain Park, Okla., and Orville
Barkley, Mountain View; 10 nieces and nephews and other relatives.
