Born in Windsor in Randolph County, he moved to Muncie as a boy and was graduated from Muncie High School. He was credit manager at Banner Whitehill for a time and later moved to Fort Wayne, where he was employed at the Studebaker aircraft plant.
Mr. Amburn had lived in Fayetteville the past year and a half, where he was employed with Standard Register Co. He had previously worked with the company in Oakland, Calif., for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Elks Lodge and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Services will be at Cooper Funeral Home in Oakland. Meeks Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
