Lavina A. Knapp, born May 17th. 1837, died April 14th, 1919, age 81 years, 10 months and 27 days. She was married to Samuel Mounts, May 29th, 1860. To this Union was born seven children. Rhoda E., Minnie J., Thomas P., Samuel Jr., Rosa A., and Oliver P. She is survived by four children Rhoda E. Carrico, Thomas P. Mounts, Samuel Mounts Jr., and Oliver P. Mounts. Also two brothers one sister and 24 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of friends who mourn her loss. Her other three children with her husband having preceded her to the great beyond. She joined the Church of Christ at the age of 19 years and lived a true christian life to the end. She was a loving wife and mother and was loved by all who knew her. During her last illness she was always patient and cheerful.

Lavina joined the Christian Church in Owen County Indiana, near Spencer, her parents Eli and Rhoda Fletcher Knapp as well as Sam, were all members.
