Iva Rogers
Funeral services for Mrs. Iva Rogers, western Oklahoma pioneer, who died at her home Monday night, will be held
at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church.
Mrs. Rogers was born April 25, 1872 in Arkansas. She was married to Neil Leeper in 1894. Following his death in
1899, she was married to Prentiss Rogers in 1904.
She came with her family to what is now Beckham County in 1898 and homesteaded on Timber Creek north of Doxey. She was a member of the Methodist church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Asa Willis of Texline,Texas; two sons, Prentice Rogers, Jr. of Sayre and Mark Leeper of North Arlington, New Jersey; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Rogers of McLean, Texas and Mrs. Holley Stone of Gardena, Calif.; one brother Ernest Wikenson, Gardena, Calif.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her husband and son preceded her in death.
The Rev. J. Frank Peery and the Rev. E.T. Cooperider will officiate.
Burial will be in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery with the Moore Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
