Carl Almany Jr.
Carl W. Almany, Jr., age 89, of Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Lakebridge Health Care Center.
He was a native of Washington County. He was the son of the late Carl W. Almany Sr. and Flora M. Haney Almany. Carl was a retired truck driver for Holston Defense in Kingsport. He was of the Christian faith. Carl served in the US Army in the 469th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He had lived in both Washington and Carter Counties for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Selma Hartley, Mary Sue Rose and Irene Snyder; a great granddaughter, Megan Hulse.
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Tina Almany, of Kingsport, David and Karen Almany, of Kingsport, Phillip and Donna Almany, of Kingsport, Robert and Donna Almany, of Port Charlotte, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn A. and John Hulse, of Jonesborough, Janie and Greg Cornett, of Kingsport; a brother, Larry Almany, of Concord, NC; one sister, Orpha Putman, of Elizabethton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Carl W. Almany Jr. will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, August 31, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. His sons will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
A committal service will be conducted in Washington County Memory Gardens following the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to the Gideon's International, North Camp, P.O. Box 3695,JohnsonCity,TN37601.
