Mrs. Agnes J. Duda, 93, of La Porte, passed away on July 8, 2013 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.

She was born on January 26, 1920, in Poland, to Joseph and Marianna (Szynal) Kosior. Agnes came here in 1948 from Poland.

Agnes retired from American Home Foods as a production worker and previously worked at Indiana Moulding and Frame. She was a housekeeper for several local families.

On June 10, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, she married Adam J. Duda, who preceded her on July 20, 2005.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Rosary Society, Polish National Alliance Lodge #1120, an avid gardener, and liked to play bingo and gaming. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and volunteered cooking at Sacred Heart Festival and functions and PNA social events.

Agnes is survived by three daughters, Mary (Dennis) Wozniak of Rolling Prairie; Jeanette Filip of La Porte; Teresa (Terry) Winn of La Porte; one son, Joseph (Penny) Duda of Mill Creek; seven grandchildren, Leah (Dan) Anderson, Paul (Tina) Wozniak, Lana (Patrick) Wooden, Jacque (Brett) Michael, Adam and Austin Duda and Amber Ashley and nine great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Julia) Kosior of La Porte, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one son, Stanley Kosior, one son-in-law, Michael Filip and one sister, Ava.

The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Ian Williams officiating.

The visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Essling Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery Friday following the Mass.
