Ione LaRue Nate Derricott passed away May 1, 2013 at the age of 92 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho. She was born August 22, 1920 in Montpelier to Charles Henry Nate and Tiena Arnold, and lived in Bear Lake her entire life.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Bruce of 59 years.
She is survived by two younger brothers, Don Nate of Aurora, Co., and Gary Nate of Ogden, Ut., and a sister Jeannine (Ellis) Eborn of St. George, Ut., sister-in-laws, Juanita Derricott, Verla (Jack) Gregersen, of Montpelier, son, Mike Derricott (Karen) and daughter, Ruth (Jim) Parks, both of Liberty, Idaho, seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Ione and her eternal companion were married in the Logan Temple December 20, 1944.

She loved family gatherings, and visiting with family and her many friends. AND was an avid Jazz fan.

She was active in her church, and fulfilled many callings to serve. She remained secretary to the Liberty Ward Sunday School through three different consecutive presidencies.

Ione was widely known throughout the Bear Lake Valley as the "Avon Lady," which was her passion for nearly 55 years, and she was actively working into her 93rd year.

Funeral Services will be held May 9, 2013, at noon at the Liberty Ward Church. A viewing will be held May 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Schwab-Matthews Mortuary in Montpelier, and 10 to11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
