Mobile, Ala., Dec 23 - Dr Rhett Goode, Dean of the medical department of the University of Alabama, and recently elected president of the American Railway Surgeon's association, died after a very brief illness at his home, 60 St. Emanuel Street of Bright's disease in acute form.
The first intimation of the serious illness of this prominent Mobilian was earned late last night when a number of physicians were hurriedly summoned to his home. Every known science was brought into service by the physicians, who remained at his bedside working unceasingly to save the life of the man whom all loved, but their efforts were in vain. - December 24, 1911, Columbus Ledger
