Edna Mae Curtis
March 6, 1917-Sept. 1, 2004
Edna Mae CURTIS, 87, Wynnfield Crossing, 1729 Wabash Avenue, Rochester, passed away at 10:03 p.m. Wednesday, at Hickory Creek of Rochester nursing home where she was a patient.
Born near Akron to Russell and Jesse Landis Paxton, she married Ralph Curtis on Sept. 5, 1936, in Akron. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1990.
Mrs. Curtis was a homemaker and resided in Fulton County for most of her life except when she lived in Indianapolis for two years. She attended First Church of God, Rochester.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Curtis Jr. and wife Peggy, and Robert Curtis and wife Becky, all of Rochester; one son-in-law, Bill Knauff, Rochester; six grandchildren, Vicki Harrold and husband Richard, Akron, Marsha Arntt, Rochester, Steve Curtis and wife Johanna, Rochester, Ryan Curtis and wife Cindy, Syracuse, Lori Filatyev and husband Sergei, West Lafayette, and Cassie Miller and husband Matt, Rochester; 10 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jim Paxton and wife Kay, Silver Lake, Ed Paxton and wife Ruth, Rochester, Earl "Bud" Paxton and wife Phyllis, Rochester, and Larry Paxton and wife Pat, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, five-year-old James; one daughter, Sharon Knauff, on June 22, 2004; two great-grandaughters, Madison and Corrine Knauff; and four sisters, Bonnie Garber, Charlotte Keesey, Neva Stackhouse, and Freda Geiger.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. Friday at the IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. The family asks that memorials be made to the Heart Fund. Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of her arrangements.
