The daughter of Jacob Dixon and Susan Amilda Stone, Emma married Gustave Christian "Gus" Blumenberg on 13 Nov 1899 in Calhoun County, Illinois. They were the parents of 3 children.

The family lived in Keokuk, Iowa in 1909, but returned to Hamburg, Calhoun County, Illinois by 1910. He was a cook on a steam boat and later worked as a confectionery tender. His widowed father, Detlef Blumenberg, lived with the family for a time.

After Gus died in 1931, Emma and her son, Albert, continued to live in Calhoun County. Albert worked on road construction in the 1930's and 1940's.

In her later years, Emma made her home with her daughter, Lily, who was employed in the business office of Alton Memorial Hospital.

Emma suffered from health problems for a time before her death. She was hospitalized for 2 weeks, but was able to return to her daughter's home. Emma was then hospitalized for 1 week at Alton Memorial Hospital. She died there 10 days before what would have been her 85th birthday.

Emma was survived by 2 daughters, Vivian Wilson of Alton, and Lily Blumenberg; 1 son, Albert of Hamburg, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Della Fischer of Gilead, Illinois, and Anna Boucher of Hamburg, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; and 2 brothers, Leonard Dixon and Perry Dixon.

Visitation was held at the C.C. Hanks Funeral Home in Hardin, Calhoun County, Illinois. Emma was buried next to her husband, Gus.

Children: 2 daughters, 1 son.
