Dulcie Idella Peach was born March 5, 1899 near Stockton and departed this life November 27, 1967 after a lingering illness. At the time of her death, she was 68 years, eight months, 3 weeks and one day of age.

She was the daughter of William Shiloh and Eliza Jane (Holmes) Peach. She spent her entire life in Cedar county with the exception of a few years spent in California.

She was converted at the Independence Free Will Baptist Church in the year 1915. In her later years she moved her membership to the Methodist Church in Stockton.

She was married to Simon J. Rosenbaum March 17, 1918 and to this union one son was born, Chester L., on April 29, 1919, who died in Germany of wounds received in action on April 15, 1945. Also preceding her in death was her mother, father, and one sister, Corda Ethel (Peach) Rosenbaum.

She is survived by her husband and a foster son, Dale Peach, whom at an early age she took into her home and reared and loved as her own. Also his wife, Maxine and two grandsons, Terry and Timmie. She also leaves one sister, Lula M. Routh, Stockton, and one brother Russell B. Peach of Campbell, Calif., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dulcie's greatest pleasure was doing for her loved ones and also for anyone that was in need of help. She was always ready to help take care of the sick and was active in her church work as long as her health would permit.

She will be sadly missed by her loved ones, her many friends and neighbors.

There is no death, the stars go down,
To rise upon some fairer shore
And bright in heaven's jeweled crown
They shine forever more.
There is no death. The leaves may fall
The flowers may fade and pass away,
They only wait through wintry hours
The warm sweet breath of May.
And all things that, for grief or joy
Are worthy of Thy love and care,
Whose loss has left us desolate
Are safely garnered there.
She is not dead, she has but passed
beyond the mists that come,
Into the new and larger life
Of that eternal home.

Services were held in the Stockton Methodist Church on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1967, with Rev. Wm. Butts officiating. The songs, "Abide With Me", "Ivory Palaces" were sung by a mixed choir of the Methodist Church and a solo, "Beyond The Sunset" was sung by Dwain Flemmons, Georgia Higgins, accompanist. Escorts were: Lewis Rosenbaum, Elda Rosenbaum, Melvin Rosenbaum, Sam Jr. Rosenbaum, Jack Stephens, Gerald Stephens. Interment was in Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Cantlon Funeral Home.
