The father of MM Ellison his name was William Ellison. My grandfather on father’s side his name was Asa Ellison. He came from Lee Co. Va. To Whitley Co Ky in 1808. My father was 13 years of age when grand father came to the county. Grand father settled, lived and died in Whitley Co. Now called the John Ellison bent of clear fork of circle land River. Grand father was married the second time to a Pennington, my grand mother’s name before marriage.
My father first married Nancy Bowen from N. C. Ua by him he had 5 children Isaac, Elizabeth, James, Ida and Helin. Isaac married Nancy (illegible), James Nancy Thomas, Elizabeth William Lay, Ida GB Creekmore, Helen John Smith. Father was married to my mother being his second marriage. He had 10 children by his second wife. Her name before marriage was Manning a daughter of William Manning his mother was a Morgan before marriage. Names of father 10 last children 1. Nancy who married M.E. Wyatt, 2 Olive who married WB Davis, 3rd Emaline who married Jackson Skeen first he died and she married Joseph Guinn 4th Rebecca whom married J.L. Mcarty 5th Rachel who died at about the age of 10 years 6th William who married a Stanfill 7th myself M M Ellison who married a Beams 8th Nanny Ann who married a Lawes. 9th Leeanah who married a Peace 10th George W who died about the age of 6 years My mother who was my Mother died about the year 1867 Age about 68 My father died in the year 1870 age 70
My grand father and grand mother on my mothers side came from Ala to this county My father had a sister lived and died in Lincoln Co Ky and a brother lived and died in Ala and he had one sister living in Indiana who married a Cook one living in Mo. John Ellison has half brother lives in the bent in Whitley Co Ky Sampeon Standfill who lives Elk fork married my fathers half sister she is dead her name was Rachel my father had brother James and Joseph I know nothing of the rest of his brs & sisters or he never told me of them that I remember These are some of the same family of Ellisons settled & living in Madison Ky My Brother James Ellison lives in Arkansas his son Simon Ellison lives in Mo in 9 miles of Springfield. My mother had one sister by the name of Olive n he married Andrew Patrick and one brother married (illegible) who is dead one brother named Henry.
