24 Aug 1945 - E. P. Thompson, age 98 years, passed away at Gandy Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alice T. Sandel. Funeral rites were held at Simmesport Methodist church 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Lastie N. Hoffpauir officiated, Massingill funeral home directing.

Surviving are: Mrs. Annie T. Simms, Monroe; J. T. Thompson, Baton Rouge; A. Thompson, New Orleans; Levi Thompson, Waterproof; Virginia T. Conly, Logansport and Mrs. Alice T. Sandel, Gandy.

Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the Civil War.
