She was born on July 10, 1918, to A.P. and Mabel Skinner Ritchie, in Bemidji. She attended grade school at Carr Lake and the Lab School in Bemidji. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1936 and also French's Business College. She was a member of the Carr Lake 4-H Club for many years and won several trips to the State Fair demonstrating in the Home Economics Department. She married Roy "Pat" Boyer on April 27, 1941, in Bemidji. They have three children. She and her husband celebrated 61 years of married life together in 2002. They both lived in Bemidji all of their life.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bemidji and was an active member of the church circle. She was a volunteer of the Beltrami Nursing Home Auxiliary (now Havenwood Care Center). She also was a auxiliary member of the American Legion Group for over 40 years. She enjoyed all sports and card games, especially bridge.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia of Bemidji; sons, Don (Lori) of Kenmore, Wash., and John of Missoula, Mont.; two grandchildren; twin brother, Donald (Bel) Ritchie of Palm Desert, Calif.; sister, Mabel (Roy) Ritchie Westling Brandt of Grants Pass, Ore.; sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Harold, Clarence and Carl; and sister, Louise.
