GILLESPIE, Melissa Maud

OBITUARY- DIED of congestion of the stomach, August 3d, 1879, after a suffering of three months, Melissa Maud, a little daughter of O and R.B. Gillespie, aged 1 year, six months and 22 days.

Death stole in our happy little band and took from us one of our most lovely charms on earth. Maud was a lovely little girl, well beloved by her Pa and Ma, and was a favorite child among many relatives and friends. We can never forget the dear little ones kisses she offered until almost the last expiring breath. Those bright blue eyes, which are now closed in death, will long be remembered by many persons, but she has gone home at her Savior's call, for the Lord hath said suffer those dear little ones to come unto me and forbid them not.

Darling Maud how we miss thee,
Miss that little form of thine,
But in heaven we hope to meet thee,
With the angels there to shine.
