ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for Judith 'Judy' L. Anderson, 73, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Michael Sernett as Celebrant. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. She died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. due to injuries sustained in an accident.

Judith (Judy) L. (Wickman) Anderson, the daughter of William and Florence (Rhoades) Wickman, was born June 24, 1939, in Fort Dodge. She received her education in Fort Dodge and graduated from St. Edmond High School. After her graduation she attended one year of nursing school.

On Aug. 29, 1959, Judy was united in marriage to Raymond Anderson in Fort Dodge. Along with being a homemaker and mom, Judy was employed outside their home in Fort Dodge at the telephone company. Later the family moved to Estherville and Judy was employed as admissions clerk at Holy Family Hospital and also sold Avon products. She later worked at Estherville Millwork, Stalls Farm and Home and then Alco, where she had been employed since 1982. Judy was a social butterfly and an animal lover. In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, visiting casinos and walking. Judy's greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved family and friends. Judy was an active member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish, Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

Left to cherish Judy's memory are her children, Sherry Shain and her husband, Dr. Drew, of Estherville, Shelly Bryan of Sioux Falls, Chris Anderson of Estherville and David Anderson of Minneapolis. Grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Hardman, Nicole (Ryan) Rosfjord, Matt (Lynsee) Planting and Tanner Bryan. Five great-grandchildren, Mya and Josh Hardman, Adrienne and William Rosfjord and Wyatt Planting. Brother, Fred Wickman and brother-in-law Marvin Ekstrom. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
