Elaine Joyce Bennett King of Carbondale became an angel on April 19, 2013, after an illness.
Graveside services will be conducted by Martin Mortuary at the Nucla Cemetery on Sunday, April 28th, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
A memorial service and potluck will be held Monday, April 29th in Carbondale at The Orchard from 1-5 pm.
Elaine is survived by a daughter, Kendra King of Portland, Oregon; her partner Dean Exley of Carbondale; 3 grandchildren: John, Michael and Joseph Simmons of Salem. Missouri; a brother, Leland Bennett of Nucla; sisters Bonnie Short of Paonia and Hazel Holdridge of Craig; many cousins, nephews and nieces and a large extended family in Wyoming.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Nellie Bennett; daughter Shellia King; granddaughter Cassie King; brother Bonsal Bennett and sister Betty Reed.
Elaine lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 45 years. She worked for City Market in Carbondale for 22 years. Prior to that she managed the Townhouse Restaurant in Redstone.
