Ira Mulliken
Ira M. Mulliken, father of Mrs. Francis Leander of Alton, with whom he had made his home, died Sunday in Alton Memorial Hospital. He was 92, and the last of eight children of the late Mr. and Mrs. James W. Mulliken. He was born Dec. 17, 1865 in Champaign County.
Besides his parents, Mr. Mulliken was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ida Mulliken, Dec. 23, 1956, to whom he had been married in Arcola Sept. 14, 1893, and a daughter, Thelma Lorena, in infancy.
After coming to Alton he changed his membership to the First Presbyterian Church from the Christian Church in which he had been a member for more than 50 years. A former furniture dealer and undertaker in Ladoga, Ind., he was a 60-year member of the A.F. & A.M. lodge.
Funeral services for Mr. Mulliken will be conducted Tuesday at Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola.
