THE TAMPA TRIBUNE (TAMPA,FL) 4/28/1918

"Miss Sophia Brannan died at the home of her Mother on Nocatee Avenue, Thursday morning of tuberculosis, aged thirty two years. The Funeral Services were held at the Joshua Creek Church at 11:00 o'clock Friday morning, conducted by Rev. C.F. York of Nocatee. It was a double funeral.

At the same time he officiated at the funeral obsequies of William Nicholson, aged eighty three, who died Thursday morning of old age at his home on the same street. The later had been eleven years a resident of the county, coming here from Louisville, KY. He leaves two sons, S.F. Nicholson of this county and Joseph Nicholson of Louisville, KY and one daughter, Mrs. Hurt of Nocatee. The interment of both occurred at the Joshua Creek Cemetery."
