Rites Tuesday For Elderly Northwood Man

Northwood—Gustav Buntrock, 82, a resident of Northwood, Iowa, for 20 years, died at his home Friday at 9:10 p.m. His death was attributed to complications of a broken hip. He was convalescing at home following a 31-day treatment in a hospital.
A native of Germany, he was born July 19, 1882 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Verdinand Buntrock. He came to the United States when he was six years old and settled in the Myrtle area. He farmed until his retirement 20 years ago. He was a member of the Myrtle Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
He was married to Sophie Buth, March 4, 1908, at Myrtle. She preceded him in death October 16, 1972.
Immediate survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Ardella) Knaack, Gordonville; Mrs. Kentner (Gladys) Cottingham, and Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) Fedge, both of Northwood, a granddaughter, Sharon Knaack; one sister and seven brothers. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Services will be held at the Myrtle Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Pilgrim’s Rest, Myrtle. The Rev. Otto Staehling will officiate. Bakke Funeral Home, Northwood, is making the arrangements.
