Mary F. Schofield of South Weymouth, formerly of Hyde Park and Dorchester, died July 4, 2013, at 99 years old. In her early years, Mary worked in a bakery in Dorchester and later carried her skills to her own kitchen as she raised her family. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Mary was strong in faith and an advocate of the Rosary. She will be sadly missed. Beloved wife of the late John A. Schofield, Detective Sergeant, BPD, she was the devoted mother of Mary E. Russo and her husband Ronald of Weymouth, James T. Schofield and his late wife Terry of Palmer, Texas, and the late John A. Schofield and his wife Jeanne of Aurora, Ill.; cherished grandmother of Donna Russo, Maryanne Ramirez, Christine Russo Dufault, Sean Schofield, Russell Schofield; and eight great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Madeline Gibbons of Dorchester/Cambridge. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 6-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), South Weymouth. Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Josephs Cemetery, West Roxbury.
