Laverne Marler, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, July 3, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Jerry Davey officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Laverne was born May 25, 1929, in Turkey to Archie and Selma McKay. She married Carl Roy Marler in 1947 in Clarendon. He passed away in 1985.

Laverne was a beautician for many years. She loved arts and crafts and really enjoyed crocheting. Laverne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be truly missed.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Michelle; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include a son, Terry Marler and wife Vicki of Amarillo; two daughters, Judy Miller and Janna Veach and husband Ralph, all of Amarillo; her sisters, Ida Mae and Ellen and husband J.D., all of Electra, Jannett of Oklahoma and Ann of Vernon; six
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
