During WWII he served in the Army Air Corp as a rainmaker while making training films at the Hal Roach Studios in Culver City, California. He retired from the B C Cobb plant after 32 years of service.
He leaves to morn his lost 3 daughters: Suzanne (John) Berson, Chris (Robert) Sevrey and Roberta "Robbie" Peterson; a son Thomas (Donna) Carr; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren & 10 great great-grandchildren; a sister Beverly Loraine Cowles; and several nieces and nephews.
Military Rites were afforded him with burial in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
