Jerry Lynn Turbyfill, age 50, of Cloutierville, La., died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at LSU Medical Center, Shreveport, La.He was a native of Lauderdale County, a member of Stony Point Church of Christ, a member of the Provencal Bass Club and was employed as a machine operator at Marto-Plywood Plant in Cloutierville, La.Jerry was a wonderful father, son and brother, who loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Jerry was also an expert Rook player. He loved everyone and never met a stranger.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stony Point Church of Christ, with burial in Stony Point Church of Christ Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Officiating at the service will be Derrell Davis.His father, William Oscar Turbyfill, and a brother, Charles Turbyfille, preceded him in death.He is survived by his companion, Johnnie McCrory, of Cloutierville, La.; son, Jason Lynn Turbyfill, of Florence; daughter, Christy Ann Malone, of Russellville; three grandsons; mother, Velma Nadine Turbyfill, of Florence; brothers, Donnie Turbyfill of Phoenix, Ariz., Norris Turbyfill, of Hazel Green, Ala., and Tommie Turbyfill, of Killen; sisters, Betty Elmore, of Encinitas, Calif., Clara Johnston, of Florence, and Mary Nell Turbyfill, of Florence; numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Steve Lansdell, Michael Lansdell, Lavell Kay, William Sanders, Joey Johnston, Doug Elmore, George Wolfe and Tim Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Johnston, Josh Johnston, Dustin Turbyfill, Daniel Turbyfill, Thomas Turbyfill, Roy Hays, Maurice Cole, David May, Danny Liles, Ricky Herston, Michael Sanders, members of the Provencal Bass Club and employees of Marto-Plywood Co.Greenview Funeral Home, of Florence, is directing. .
