Newton was oldest son of Benjanin and Manerva Anisley Leiws. According to Eva Palmer Belcher (a Lewis decendant), Newton was supposely killed by Indians. Mewton was on his way to the mill when he was killed. According to the story, the Indians put his body back on his mule and the mule carried his body back home. Newton was approximately 14 years old when this happened. Grave is unmarked.
