She was the daughter of Gilbert Clevenger and Elizabeth "Polly' Fuller. Her age in various censuses don't agree. For instance, in 1880 her age was 23; in 1900, 46; in 1910 and 1920 it was 54. The birth year of 1857 was determined from her death certificate, which gives her age as 78 in January of 1936, according to the informant, son Boone Clevenger.

Hitchins Woman Dies Thursday
Funeral Rites to Be Held Saturday Morning

Grayson, Ky., Jan. 2 -- Susie Clevenger, a prominent resident of Hitchins, died at the home of her son there Thursday after an illness of several days.

Mrs. Clevenger is suvived by six children. They are: Mrs. Bertha Jackson, Liza Clevenger, and Boone Clevenger, all of Hitchins, W.L. Clevenger of Princess, and W.A. and Roy Clevenger, both of Ashland.

Funeral rites will be held from the home at Hitchins, Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock with burial following at the Clevenger Cemetery under the direction of the Malone Funeral Home.
