"Miss Jennie Lasater Dead - News reached this city yesterday evening of the death of Miss Jennie Lasater at Rocky Ford, Colorado, at the home of her uncle, Charles L. Govreau, where she had been visiting. The immediate cause of her death was malarial fever. Miss Lasater had gone to Colorado for her health at the first of the summer. She was threatened with lung trouble and hoped the mountain climate would prove beneficial.

Miss Lasater was born June 18, 1867. Much of her life had been spent in this city where she enjoyed a large circle of friends. The last few years she spent with relatives at different places in Wisconsin, Illinois, and this year in Colorado. Her mother lives in this city and some of her brothers in the country.

Her body will be brought to this city for burial, arriving here on Saturday morning. Funeral services will be held at the home of G.B. Thomas, Sunday morning at 10 o'clock."
