Edward L. "Stretch" Adams, Galesburg Chapel 61, of Galesburg, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at home.
He was born October 3, 1951 in Galesburg the son of Emmett and Doris Brittingham Adams.
He is survived by a daughter, Leisa Treadway of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; four grandchildren, Macey Combee, Cheyenne Combee, Daniel Combee, and Damion Croft; two sisters, Linda Hurley of Chicago, Ill. and Mabel Hammond of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl R. Adams.
Stretch was a truck driver for Bertis Carlson Trucking. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969. Stretch enjoyed music, especially karaoke, bowling, and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jim Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
