Marshall was a twin to Francis Marion Antle, the first of the 5 sons of Marshall and Mary Frances Carlock Antle. He enlisted in the US Army during WWI and served as a Colonel in France. He graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, IL and taught in several country schools in Sangamon Co., IL before teaching in Springfield and Lanphier High Schools in Springfield. Marshall was married to Anna Louise Foster in Jacksonville, IL June 20, 1935. They were the parents of 2 daughters, Eleanor and Alyce, and grandparents of 3 grandsons. Marshall retired from the Federal Internal Revenue Service in the late 1950's. He was a 50 year member of the Mason's, a member of the VFW, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburn, where he taught the Come Double Sunday School class and was Church Superintendent for many years. He enjoyed working in his large fruit and vegetable garden. He was a quiet, patient, loving husband and father. Marshall died at home four days after his 91st birthday with all his family at his side. He had suffered from Alzeimer's for several years.
